We are thrilled to announce that Témoin has been accepted into the prestigious Without Walls outdoor arts commissioning portfolio for 2018-2019. In partnership with The Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, Stockton International Riverside Festival, and Brighton Festival, we will R&D and premiere Routes, a large outdoor puppetry and clown piece exploring British, Migrant, and Refugee stories.
Routes was originally conceived by immersive designer Olivia Altaras in partnership with Témoin’s AD Ailin Conant, and developed as an outdoor storytelling piece produced by Hannah Tookey and supported by Theatre Delicatessen and the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The project has been developed and researched with Refugee, Migrant, and Native British groups and artists in partnership with PsycheDelight, Young Roots, A Band of Brothers, Creating Ground, and Greenwich Migrant Hub. We will be working with our commissioning partners and local community groups to expand the piece over the next year through puppetry and storytelling workshops and rehearsals.
Routes will premiere in 2019, at Greenwich and Docklands International Festival and Brighton Festival. A work-in-progress sharing of the piece was presented as part of Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF) this year.
Supported by Arts Council England and 101 Creation Space.
